Back on the treadmill

Back to Work Bus

When the 11th of January neared so did the anxiety. Why?…well when you have been working for forty years it feels like, why haven't I worked out that yes I enjoy the end of the year, but sooner, rather than later, it will be over and I will be back on the treadmill. And no not the exercise model, the work one. Not a lot different to year one really.

The end of the working year, the time with the family, and friends, the ham sandwiches, (on white bread - you beauty!), and the mandatory mustard is reward, but sadly short-lived.

Then, as the new year rolls in, and the 'back to work' date gets nearer, I just think… well another year down, and you still haven't sorted things out. You are still working full time. Asset rich but cash poor, and another eleven and a half months before you can 'taste the mustard!'
